LivModer aims to bridge science with spirit.
Birth is not something to be managed, but a beautiful, wild, powerful and in some ways mysterious process.
However, wherever, and with whomever you feel safest and most empowered, is how, where and with whom your birth should happen. You must go within to find your own answers -this is part of the inner work of pregnancy.
You are the highest authority in knowing what is right for you and your baby.
LivModer Doula Approcah
"A doula, also known as a birth companion, birth coach or post-birth supporter, is a non-medical person who stays with and assists a woman before, during, or after childbirth, to provide emotional support and physical help if needed.” (wiki)
Search and you will find many (slightly) varying descriptions of what a doula is. However, at the end of the day, a doula is what a doula does, which varies depending on her skills, experiences and personality, as well as on the individuals who she is a doula for.
I believe it is very important that you find a doula that suits you. Someone who is able and willing to fill your needs.
I take on many roles as a doula; advocate, guide, coach, friend, confidant and never failing supporter are some of them.
I offer my knowledge and skills, my experience and resources, as well as my energy, friendship and loving attention.
I consider serving as a doula, to be a wonderful privilage and honor.
I am extremley passionate about helping you recognise and feel how powerful and capable you are.
I am there to support and motivate you in making choices and desicions, that aligns with your own highest vision and deepest longing for your birth. I want you to feel confident and filled with trust in yourself, as I believe this greatly improves your chances of having a positive experience. I help you clarify your priorities and make sure you are fully informed of all your options and rights. This way, you can make choices that are truly informed - by your own inner guidance, understanding and reasoning, as well as by science and evidence. I will never tell you what to do. I always respect your reality and your views. I appreciate that you take full responsibility for your own experience and play an active role in your journey.
I don't believe that every doula suits every woman. When a woman feels that her doula share her own veiws and beliefs regarding pregnancy and birth, I believe it is easier for her to feel seen, supported, understood and truly comfortable to be herself at all times.
If you think that I may be the doula for you, please take a moment to see how your heart responds to the questions below...
